PPES AQUA SANTUBONG SDN. BHD.

PPES Aqua (Santubong) Sdn Bhd was incorporated on 26 March 1986 and commenced its operation in 1993. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of SEDC and is tasked to manage and monitor its tenancy with Sea Horse Corporation Sdn Bhd. The prawn farm is located at Kuala Santubong, Kuching and has a total land size of 173 hectares (427.46 acres). The farm comprise 74 grow-out ponds which occupies 63 hectares (156 acres) of the total land. The average annual production of White Prawn (Vannamei) is approximately 1,500 metric tonnes. Sea Horse Corporation Sdn Bhd main markets are Japan, China and Europe.

Land Available for Aquaculture Farming
a) 26-hectares aquaculture land equipped with 13 earth ponds at Oya, Mukah.
b) 160-hectares mangrove swamp at Sampadi, Lundu Kuching Division.
c) 23-hectares mangrove swamp at Jemoreng, Jalan Kuala Matu-Igan, Mukah
d) 40.4-hectares mangrove swamp at between Loba Pulau and Loba Pasir, Tanjung Manis, Mukah

OYA AQUACULTURE FARM

The site is located at Lot 140 and 142 (Formerly known as Lot 101), Block 28, Oya-Dalat Land. The purpose of the land is for marine aquaculture purpose. The total land size is 37.57 hectares (92.8 acres). The land comprises of 13 ponds with the size of 1 hectare each (13 ha total surface area), a supply canal, a discharge canal and basic infrastructure such as access road and electricity supply.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT SUNGAI SAMPADI, LUNDU

The size of the site is approximately 160 ha (495 acres) with travel time of 1.5 hours by road from Kuching in a northwest direction. The site is located at the tributary of the Sampadi River. Alternatively, the site is reachable in 1.5 hours by speed boat which may be chartered from Semariang Batu (at the outskirt of Kuching). The land is mangrove swamp which is suitable for Prawn Farming or Mud Crab Culture.
