World Harvest Festival (WHF) 2016 [28 March 2016]

Held on 28 March 2016 at Mulu Meeting Room, Ministry of Tourism Sarawak, MASJA at 10.30am

KUCHING: YB Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg, Minister of Housing and Minister of Tourism Sarawak chaired a press conference for World Harvest Festival (WHF) 2016 last 28 March at MASJA. The press conference was also attended by YB Datuk Haji Talip Zulpilip, Assistant Minister of Tourism Sarawak and Chairman of SEDC Sarawak, Encik Edwin Abit, Puan Jane Lian Labang.

This year, WHF 2016 will be held at the Sarawak Cultural Village from 29 April to 1 May 2016 with exciting activities such as an outdoor theme play entitled “Dayang Bulan-The Moon Princess” based on a Kelabit folklore, an ethnic beauty pageant “Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016”, Ironman WHF 2016, Sarawak Kitchen Food-Culinary Competition and a special concert featuring sape professionals/amateurs from Sarawak.

In conjunction with the festival, SCV is also promoting its “Gawai Village Stay Tourism Package” where guests can experience, learn and participate in all the cultural activities in the Village. The package is valid from 29 April to 4 June 2016 with rates from RM399.00+ per person for a 2days1night stay per person inclusive of accommodation, 3 set meals, and participation in SCV’s Arts Appreciation Programme.

WHF 2016 is organised by Sarawak Cultural Village and supported by Ministry of Tourism Sarawak, SEDC Sarawak, Tourism Malaysia Sarawak, The National Department of Cultural & Arts Sarawak and Sarawak Tourism Board.

Entrance tickets are on sale now at RM60.00 for adult and RM30.00 for children age 6-12 years old (subjected to 6% GST).
